Health bill faces roadblocks in Senate

Hours after House Democrats narrowly advanced legislation to reshape the country's health care system, Republicans and a key independent in the Senate on Sunday vowed to kill the measure unless it is radically altered. "The House bill is dead on arrival in the Senate," said Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican, on CBS' "Face the Nation" on Sunday. "It was a bill written by liberals, for… » Full Story on Washington Times

I realize that there are some people who still think that a Government funded health care would be a good thing. I understand that the price of insurance is high. Those who are against this pay for their insurance. We also have read more than what the new media has said about this bill. This Bill will not solve our problems. It will only create more. Look at medicare and medicaid and see all the wasted money and you will see what will happen if this is passed. The better way to solve this is to open the borders for selling health insurance. Change the laws on lawsuits. This is a place to start. If you open the borders for selling insurance the instate insurance companies will have to drop their prices to compete. This way would be fair to everyone. Oh wait but that would be logical and we all know that our Government is not logical. Neither are the people who want a free ride.

I've been reading the same, repetitive whining for months now.

But, you know. These message boards *do* seem to provide the republican &/or conservatives a nice place to team together and b*tch up a storm. Lots of anger, negativity and ignorance…just dropped here like bird poop. Yahoo! is like a little Health Care Plan, as it allows people a place to vent, as opposed to going out and shooting/blowing up buildings. Yahoo! provides a drug-free forum for the illusionists, paranoids and haters! And, all it costs them is their monthly internet fee.

Is it true that they are adding an amendment that will also deny health care to men for their problems with ED and their other reproductive problems? What about mandatory vasectomies?

When did Obama become an economist? He is a community organizer AT BEST and nothing else. The black Americans voted for him because of his skin color and white Americans voted for him in tyring to put the past behind them. He has NEVER been a leader and in fact has taken a path of least resistance when it comes to leadership in his past. America, next time change your socks and leave the running of our great country to those who are qualified and educated about such things will ya?

The centralized federal government is becoming a rogue entity.

They are throwing regulations into all aspects of our lives and the recent House passage of the health care bill is a prime example of it.

They keep punishing us and telling us what we can and can't do.

They are improving their own lives and their own power at our expense.

Congress is not voting out of conscience, they are voting out of ideology.

That is why they want more power and to tell us what kind of health care we are entitled to.

The Homeland Security Department recommends that all Americans over the
age of 12 examine their patriotism once a month. If a change should
occur in your patriotism level let your local FBI agent know, so that
you can receive free government monitoring.

Homeland Security Self-Exam (keep track of your answers, points are
awarded at the end of the exam):

Every American should own, and know how to use a gun because:
a. We may be called upon at any moment to fend off a jihad of foreign
invaders.
b. We may need to protect our valuables from millions of newly
unemployed slum-dwellers.
c. It's fun to shoot things.
d. We may be called upon to overthrow a tyrannical leadership that has
stolen an election and usurped our freedoms.

Every American should be fingerprinted because;
a. After all good Americans are fingerprinted, only the evil ones will
be left to round up and lock away.
b. It will prevent thieves from stealing my identity, and using it to
rack up my Victoria's Secret credit card.
c. If you're ever kidnapped by terrorists, it'll help the authorities
find and identify your body.
d. No American should ever be fingerprinted, unless they have been
convicted of a felony.

If I find that my neighbor, a subsidiary of a multi-national
corporation, is stockpiling hazardous waste in their backyard I should:
a. Ask the company to hide the waste by burying it, so that no
terrorists can possibly attempt to use it for some evil plot.
b. Contact the Environmental Protection Agency, which takes care of all
environmental problems, so you don't have anything to worry about.

Submit your answers to the following address: U.S. Department of Homeland Security Washington, DC 20528 for grading.

Your answers should be mailed back to you in a few weeks (6 - 8 weeks). Once again, if a change should occur in your patriotism level let your local FBI agent know, so that you can receive free government monitoring.

It seems like the only thing bi-partisan about Obamacare is the opposition. I wonder if they will try to collect the $500 billion in fraud if the bill fails to pass. Seems like an easy question, but you never know about a Dumbocrat.

Let the traitors that voted for this bill know that we will be handing them a pink slip in 2010. Members of the house have sealed their fate. Make sure Senators know what awaits them if they vote for this debacle.

Diana Louise DeGette (D) CO - First Congressional District of Colorado since 1997. This woman is a baby murderer. She has vowed that she and at least 40 other Democrats supporting abortion rights would vote against any final health bill containing the amendment on abortion rights offered by Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.), and said she would take her case against the provision to the White House. Of course Pelosi wanted the bill voted on no matter the case and this misuse of the process is disturbing to the point of down right disgusting. These people, DeGette and Pelosi knew damn well that if the bill passed with the majority that they would then go after the amendment. Too bad Degette. Take your anti-2nd amendment, anti-military, pro-partial birth, lobbyist loving record to the people this time. You and the government using taxpayer money of citizens that don’t want it used on abortions is about to end.

2010 vote this sad excuse for a human being out of office

Oh god lord. get over it. america has spoken and unlike previous elections -the people actually elected a president--first time in 8 years. and we will reelect him in another 3 years. we will do what we have to do to save this country from the ignorant few who promote fear and hatred. america will be a proud nation again. we are regaining international respect and a better economy always follows strong relationships with other democratic countries. We are strong, brave and smart. we are not afraid of the future. we will create it. join us or leave.

the people actually elected a president in 2000 and 2004, unlike the current election where voter fraud was rampant and a race voted 95% for one of it's own.

doing what you had to brought down Acorn and the majority Obama had will be long gone in 2010. you may think you have respect from other countries but what you have is hope that this great country will be like them. we aren't them and the majority here has little to no respect for Obama and an administration defined by communist czars and the destuction of American liberties. this economy is not defined by Wall Street. it is run by Main Street. perhaps you should open your eyes and realize that when the revenue well runs dry, there will be no more unemployment extensions. yeah young lady, we are that close to a full blown economic disaster. Wall Street is betting on inflation and if that's the future you crave, then your party is finished for another long stretch as it was after Carter.

we need and we want a public option in the health care reform bill. we can join the rest of the industrialized world and become a modern nation. a fair nation and a healthy nation. some people are afraid of change but most of us know that we need universal health care. Insurance companies are filling some people with fear and lies. people on medicare are afraid that their benefits wlll end. al; lies. some people will hate anything President Obama does because he is a black man. these posts are always filled with racist slurs and out right threats. But these are just a minority of americans. most of us are good. we care and we think. that is why we elected President Obama. We can elect him again and work with leaders around the world to restore our economy and restore our reputation as a leader of the free world. we can not do this without becoming a modern nation. that means universal health care. that means an end to racism. our children deserve the best of us. not the hate.

you, one mom, have just lied and used fear.

this country has been a modern nation for longer than you were a twinkle in your grand pappy's eyes. you just wish to short change that which made her modern. hard work on the backs of strong Americans. they and I did not expect the government to care for our needs. we cared for ourselves.

perhaps your generation will have it's way some day. perhaps not as long as people with the will to be free of a tyrannical government stand in your way.

call it what you want. I don't want your change and we are not a minority. perhaps you've missed a few polls. this country is still center-right and has been for generations.

Health care reform is critical for national security (not to mention the human aspect of it) but the Republicans use it for political games.
Reform is long overdue.
I hope the Senate will realize its obligations to the American people and the future of the country.
