Senators: CIA concealment may have broken law

Six months into Barack Obama's presidency, twin investigations may be on the horizon into Bush-era policies in the war on terror. » Full Story on USATODAY.com

Obama has repeatedly expressed reluctance to probing alleged Bush-era abuses. He resisted an effort by congressional Democrats to establish a "truth commission," saying the U.S. should be "looking forward and not backwards."

Regarding the 8-year-old counter-terrorism program, the Bush administration's failure to notify Congress "is a big problem, because the law is very clear," said Senate Intelligence Committee chairwoman Dianne Feinstein, a California Democrat.

Oh Oh Oh......talk to a Liberal about defending our country?

What a great idea...........

Even Potus doesn't want this investigation, in the event he may have to keep some secrets to defend us.......

What a concept....keeping our CIA, FBI and Communication's underwraps.......hmmmm would ever think to keep military and secret service work, etc etc etc a secret.

QBB, even when you agree with the President, you do in a way that is very unbecoming. I am not sure what is the best course of action, but it bothers me that the whole Bush administrations seemed to be skirting the rules to act in a completely independent manner. That is not how government is organized. Trust me. Checks and balances are a good thing, regardless of your mindless jingoism.

well it's been obvious republicans think the rules don't apply to them. just like sanford called for clinton to resign when the affair was exposed, although he won't resign himself. dick cheney gets drunk and shoots a buddy in the face while messing around on his wife. yet nothing happens to him.
any other american gets jailtime for stupid nonviolent marijuana crimes.
there's definitely something wrong when people can commit crimes that affect the whole country and not get any sort of punishment, but an 18 year old with a dimebag can go to jail or isn't allowed to join the military.

There has always been an unwritten 'code of ethics' with attorneys, doctors, police officers, and politicians. Obama and the Congress should have nothing to do with this. They are too busy burying America out of the mess GW Bush put us in! The judicial side should take over the investigations and the handing out of punishments. There is no question in my mind that Bush et al are guilty of war crimes. But it makes no sense for Obama to get involved. I am only interested in getting America back on track, but it would be nice to see Bush suffer for making us Americans suffer!!
