FYI Iran is the 2nd largest exporter of oil... I just hope they don't manage to rise oil prices just so they have more money alongside Venezuela to destabilize nations they don't agre with.

Iran will likely do a lot more influencing world wide and even over us once Obama-the Oprah Boy Toy takes office, he will bend over backwards to appease like most soft liberals do. As for Iran, everyone, including they say America better not attack or else. If they are so tough, why didn't they defeat Saddam/Iraq in their war with him in the 80's? Because they are nothing, but Obama will bestow upon them his grace and appeasing understanding. Wake up America-or should I say Lambs-for you are going to the slaughter under this piece of trash as president.

Grayfoxx...you are an idiot. Iran is not the leading importer of oil to the US to the world, Saudi Arabia followed by other members of OPEC and let's not forget Venezuela are. Back to the Saudis guess who is or should I say was kissing their robed asses--George W. Bush. So before you run off at the mouth about politics and oil at least know you're facts. NO ONE with any intelligence wants a nuclear war...present administration excluded...that is the only option floated by Bush for solving the situation in Iran. I don't know about you but I'd rather have someone try to talk me down from the ledge rather that shooting me to solve the problem. In the future, Gray I would suggest oil economics 101 followed by a couple of political science classes and follow that with just plain old reading a newspaper.

This is for Kunde. If "nobody wants a nuclear clash", then why is Iran so head-strong to develop their nuclear campaign, against all International pleadings and logic? You must live in the Ivory Tower world, where everyone is tolerated as being decent, understanding, and rational. Have YOU been to Iran and asked a question that is not politically correct? Hmmmm, guess maybe YOU should look at the world with fewer blinders and more questioning of fanatical regimes. Oh wait, that would presume an understanding of rational thinking. Whoops. That isn't cool. Maybe you think also that the Saudis are innocent and our best friends. From what country of origin were the vast majority of the 911 conspirators? Hmmm,,, maybe we can send YOU, Kunde, to be our "diplomat of change" with those wonderful terrorist regimes. Got your passport in hand, comrade?

What Bushwa ! OPEC is a notorious group that rarely acts together. Only Saudi Arabia will drop production, while the others will say they will "drop production" - while selling even more oil (under the table) at the newer higher prices, until their flooding the market drives prices even lower. This has been the technique that OPEC has used for decades, much to the enrichment of Iran, Iarq, Venezuela, Nigeria, Indonesia, et al. And the non-OPEC nations (like Canada and Mexico) that sell the USA most of its petroleum will derive even more cash.

At $55 a barrel (42 Gallons a barrel) they can shorten all the supply they wish, but no shortage will overcome the shortfall in need. The market for raw petroleum is dropping because the economies are using a lot less and places like China, India, Japan, the EU and the USA aren't buying the same quantities any longer.

Both Russia and Venezuela are going to get their tails mashed in this market and the Russian Bear is going to starve (as Russia is using Petroleum to expand it economy and pay for its political adventures).

Venezuela's petroleum is particularly poor type of oil (very high in sulphur) and since vastly higher quality petroleum will become available soon, Chavez may have to find a new country to dictate to..
