Leahy is an idiot, does not deserve the honor of being addressed as Senator. I listened to his pathetic speech before the hearing. He vainly was attempting to gloss over Sotomayors obvious history of bias as a federal judge which was a sham in the first place. Sotomayor no more deserves to be on the Supreme Court of this land than I do. Send the woman packing, this whole procedure is a farce !!!

Sotomayor will 'be a justice for all' - unless you're white, a white sympatizer or a mixture of anything white.... Justice and prejudice for 'some'...

We expect a righteous judge to judge according to the law. God also must rule according to His law, or He would be an unjust judge.

Judge Sotomayor, first nominated by President Bush Sr. has show great respect for the Constitution. Her rulings on Constitutional matters has been right with the constitution. I have to believe her record. She does have right to freedom of speech ?

Souter was also nominated by a Republican - and was a 30 year mistake. They do not need another one like Sotomayor. They need to not even let her name be officially brought up before the Judiciary Committee as the Democrats did with Miguel Estrada.

I never could figure out why it is always along party lines. If something is right or wrong, there are only two ways to go and your party should not have anything to do with it. Farnsworth is right on. Does anyone really believe that Sotomayor will "show her true colors" (such as her racist comment about white men)? NO. She will say what the senators want to hear, regardless of whether or not it's the truth, everyone will smile at each other and thank themselves endlessly for this wonderful confirmation hearing, and she's in. THEN, when she's on the bench, her radical, racist, angry, and derisive nature will kick in.

Shame, the future justice will not rule humbly from the bench.

I am not against breaking the glass ceiling for Hispanics on the Supreme Court. I just feel that there has to be more than one qualified candidate that is Hispanic and female out there. Why should we be forced to elect a woman who due to the richness of her background and experience as a wise Latino woman might act out of bias in cases that come before her? That would be like electing an inexperienced first term Senator to be President simple because he was good looking, black, and doing so would make history. I feel we should vote on character, record, and facts, not on hopes, hypothetical’s and making history.
