Gay couple detained by security near Mormon plaza after kiss

A gay couple say they were detained by security guards on a plaza owned by the Mormon church and later cited by police, claiming ... » Full Story on USATODAY.com

The security guards ask the 2 gay men to leave because of inappropriate behavior like they would ask anyone to do on the property! The gays refused to leave and started using profanity and were arrested! I can believe this story is true for the simple reason that all of us when a story about gays are on the buzz when we make a comment the gays start using profanity and name calling! I truly believe that 2 men should not be seen showing affection for one another in public! This as a woman would make me sick! Keep it in the bedroom and stop pushing it in the straight people's faces!

It doesn't matter who it is, straight or gay, there is certain behavior that common sense tells you, ''Don't do this in public." But also, if you cut across private property, and someone asks you to leave, you leave, not start cursing them out. I don't think this had anything to do with discrimination.

It doesn't matter if the couple was gay or not. If they were asked to leave private property and argued about it with the security guard, the police should have been called. They should have just left. Being gay, they most likely were sick and tired of being hassled all the time. I am also assuming that straight couples can’t hold hands and mothers can’t hug their children on the same property. The Mormon Church needs to build a big fence clearly marked with private property signs and signs stating that no displays of affection is allowed on their property. People just aren’t use to open displays of affection between gay people. Living in CA I am getting use to it.

The Security Guards were right in asking them to leave. As the gay agenda spreads, they've more become more and more active in displaying their repulsive behavior publically. Give them an inch and they want a mile. Their response with the profanity has become the norm and is not acceptable. Gays are pushing the edge at every opportunity and their actions are despicable..

A kiss on the cheek or holding hands is not deemed as inappropriate behavior in our society. To cite someone for this is an abuse of authority and I recommend the two gentlemen who were harassed by these security guards and than the police retain an attorney who is sympathetic to civil freedoms and teach the Mormon Church a lesson in tolerance.

Bet the ACLU takes this case up even though it was on private property. Gays don't want to here that the race began with a man and a woman. If it had started with a two men none of us would be here today. What is the norm? HMMMM... I wonder.....

# 43, maybe you need to be taught a lessen in tolerance. The Church has a right, or used to under the law, to govern their own property. You need to learn to tolerate people with different views from your own.

When in college I was told that the two most closed minded groups of people were the highly educated and under educated. In my life I have found that that is very true. Where do fit in this puzzle?

#43 is just another gay lover....being gay is a choice, being gay is morally wrong. Gays will be judged.

Gay people just want everyone else has! They want to get married and have families just like straight people do. I have to accept this because I have a sister who is gay. Society has to get use to seeing people from all walks of life loving each other. It's like when people had to accept bi-racial couples. There are lots of things that are far worse.

The property is the Church's and they can define what is appropriate, period. If you don't like it, then dont go there. This is the typical attempt to make things look worse than they are by gays/ They scream about hate, but the chief purveyors of hate are gays themselves as they demonstrate after anyone has the audacity to challenger them. My only wish is the civil legal system be changed to the model elsewhere where the loser pays all the court costs. This would shut the anti-Anerican ACLU and other hate America groups down.

# 43, I'm sorry my question was, Where do YOU fit in this puzzle? Sorry I missed the 'you' in the question.

Gays do not just want to be like everyone else. They want to destroy anything and everything that would challenge what they do, as Bertrand Russell wrote about back in the early 1900's. It is not enough to be tolerated. They do not want to even be told that someone else thinks they are wrong.

Was this an in-your-face test just to see if they could get by with it? Any group with an agenda just keeps hammering away until they get their way. You know, like the anti-smokers!

they cannot define what is appropriate. I'm a pretty staunch conservative and I don't buy this b.s...... you can have your cake and eat it too crap. if they want a no touching zone, build a damn fence and keep it to yourself.

I'm for rights for gays, not for gay marriage. we're all human beings so anyone who doesn't thinks we ALL have inalienable rights can piss the hell off.

as far as the trespassing goes, I have no argument. they have no argument. if those two don't understand the rights of property owners, then they must be living another person's property. so I feel sorry for that person.

The problem is that gay people are pushing it too far over the edge. Has anyone seen the gay parades in San Francisco?...totally disgusting. One of the photos I saw were a bunch of nude people riding bikes. I looked at the spectators on the side streets and many were children. What the hell were their parents thinking? They have become openly profane and disgusting in their actions. Most people don't care if a couple is gay or not, or even share a kiss or hold hands. I feel God made them that way since many have explained that they felt they were the wrong sex since they can remember. Just act as a normal citizen would act. The 2 gay men evicted from the Mormon property, were probably looking for, or are now engaged in a lawsuit since the ACLU is involved.Gayness doesn't bother me. Somebody trespassing or causing trouble on my property does and they're more than likely to be staring down the barrel of a shotgun.

My answer to DJ above. I think that all need to see this, so I'm posting it out front too.

I have never seen two men or two women
pro-create. They cannot have children just like everyone else.

I'm sorry but the lifestyle is morally wrong. It's just like stealing or adultery. Were people born that way. If so then we are wrong to condemn adultery and put the theif in prison.

I believe that being gay is morally wrong. So you men and women who believe that it's ok to be gay and it's not morally wrong then when your husband or wife commits adultery don't be lined up to get a divorce. They were born that way and they can't help it! They have no choice in their actions at all.

These are both moral issues. Consider your thinking before you start talking. I think that's why Hillary and Bill are still together because they believe he can't help it. He was born that way just like the gays they support.

Hahaha, the "race" began with a man and a woman? What race? How did the "race" go beyond the man and woman, oh yeah, which son had sex with his mother to start populating earth? Clearly, based upon your understanding of the Bible and your post the entire "race" is inbred. How do you account for Lillith?

To Realistic: Committing adultery or being a thief is morally wrong. There is no comparison here as to committing adultery or being a thief. A gay couple can be committed to each other and not commit adultery, or steal. You're comparing apples and oranges here.Straight or gay, you're going to pay the price. Do I think the gay lifestyle is right? No. But there is definitely a mental mix-up which causes them to be that way. I believe this because when I was about 12, my brother and I were visiting a deacon from our church. His son which was a couple years older than us, came in and told his dad he was gay. His dad reached across the table and slapped the sh*t outta him. How can a kid that young, just come right out and say it if he didn't believe it. I'm fairly old and gays were not tolerated in my day. But this kid just knew. That's why I think some of them don't have a choice. Others are just pervs.

They were trespassing, asked to leave and chose to argue instead. If someone trespassed on your property and you asked them to leave, what would you do if they refused and started arguing with you?

Paul L, you seem to have searched for things to help you feel good about what you believe. You need to make a real search of the Bible and see what it really teaches rather then following the teachings of the libs that want to make you believe that we all just evolved. You are not looking for a serious discussion or you could have one. The Bible also says not to throw the pearls to the Swine. Any type of evidence that I would give would be treated as pearl thrown to swine. You don't want to know as you believe you have all the answers.

If you really believe what you were taught by non-believers and refuse to seek further knowledge then I have a jet that just appeared in my yard for sale. I'll give you a good deal on it.

Kissing someone on the cheek is not deemed unacceptable in our society. For heaven's sake.. it's a kiss on the CHEEK! That's a far cry from groping each other and making out in public! If some security guard in a WESTERN nation told me I couldn't kiss my husband on the cheek (or a friend or my mother in a non-romantic gesture,) I'd be in his face about it too! If the Mormon Church doesn't want people on their property, build a giant fence around it with signs stating 'stay away!' posted. Seriously people, pull yourselves out of your Victorian attitudes and get with the times.

Rick, I was addressing the moral issues. They are all morally wrong. So if we must accept that gays were born gay then we need to accept that adulterers and thief's were born that way, too. Maybe you think that's a slippery slope. Maybe it is, but I do see a corrolation there.

This gay "couple" went looking for a squabble so they could then try to play "victim" and gain some "victim" publicity. They were cited by the police, not the church, and the citation was straightforward, legal and done after they were given at least two chances to leave.
If they are like most gays, their version of the incident is replete with falsehood, and it sdounds very much like that is the case.

Using religion as a justification for repression and hate is as old as the bible itself, which is basically a mythological representation. If you need an imaginary friend, an imagined supernatural entity to save you from yourself, you're delusional. You only can save you from yourself and make yourself a better person. And then then to take out this hate on others based on these delusions, that's the definition of insanity.

I just watched a movie about black military troups in the civil war...

One of them appeared to go AWOL but was caught and brought to charges...

The military punishment for anyone going AWOL was whipping...

These black military men were ex-slaves that had been whipped their whole lives...

Tough call... do you whip him, like you'd whip anyone else?

If you don't it's discrimination, if you do, you risk a riot...

I have a feeling, the Mormons are in trouble for NOT discriminating... we're going to see alot of gays making out on Mormon grounds for a while...

The real gay half of the gay community are quick to cat-fight... REAL bitches are found in the gay world...

I bet a shrink could make a career out of your head. Whatever you do before you go leave a few slices for science to study
