The stimulus is working as it intended. It never was intended to stimulate the economy. That's how they sold it, using the economy as its selling point. Rahm Emanuel said "Never let a good crisis go to waste." The stimulus was intended to get control of states and push through long waited pet projects that Dems could never pass. Now we're hearing about Stimulus II.

If Obama wanted to stimulate the economy, he would lower tax rates and give the private sector a boost. He has no desire to do this as long as he can blame Bush, install his ideology, and continue his power grab.

Why is this news? The Porkulus plan never had a chance of stimulating the economy. I don't believe it was ever intended to. Obama = failure. Failure of every kind and type. Why couldn't this be foreseen?

The so-called stimulus is a miserable failure. It was sold as a savior but now Obama is "changing" his tune on when or if it will work.

Obama "changed" the rhetoric saying the so-called stimulus plan was never meant to bring the economy back.

Unemployment has "changed" from 6% ot 9.5% and skyrocketing.

How is that "Change" you can believe in.

Welcome to the "change" he promised. Our country is in more debt now than when he took over. He is everything he claimed he wasn't. At some point in time, this idiocracy of an administration is going to have to face the fact that this isn't Bush's fault any longer. This damage was inflicted by the Obama followers!!!!!!!

The most effective plan would be for the government to get out of the way, and reduce the burden on the taxpayer, otherwise our money is going to be continuously wasted on the governments misbegotten ideas on what needs to be done.
Their plans have nothing to do with stimulating the economy. It is just a pork bill designed to increase the size and scope of government.

But without the "stimulus package" how is Dingy Harry (Reid) going to get his bullet train from LA to Vegas built????? See, another HUGE waste of taxpayer dollars.....UNBELIEVABLE there are this many fools in America that voted for these morons....glad I can say I wasn't one of them.

Because it is not a stimulus at all. It was Pelosi and Reid's pet projects. Spending bill not stimulus bill. If you can accept that then you can start to understand why it isn't working. It only was alotted to spend 23% of it in 2009, and at this rate it doesnt look like they will even spend that much.

no IM doc it was not the stimulus of 2008...our "stimulus" was the so called american recovery and reinvetment act..the one pelosi wrote, and said dont read it just sign it...3,000,000 new jobs...600,000 'shovel redy' by july 2009 will keep unemployment below 8%...that stimulus..2008 was the idiots giving wallstreet the money,you remember going to buy back toxic assets...the world was going to end..that plan....the one before that barney frank rammed through for fannie mae and freddie mac the one before that was sending 600 to taxpayers..should have sent a check this time..only one with check is wallstreet and UAW

Here we go. I was wondering how long it was going to take a lib to weigh in and point this back to Bush. IM - you didn't disappoint.

No matter when the economy comes back around - the Dems will point to the stimulus plan and claim it as a victory. But, we won't have to worry about that for a while - once the health care bill is passed and US corporations start laying off more people or moving their base of operations outside of the US, we will see unemployment continue to stay high.

When the cost of labor goes up, companies can either increase prices (inflation) or reduce costs (typically -they start with labor). Automation that was not cost-effective in the past will not become a productivity play as labor costs rise. - More outsourcing, more layoffs, more inflation - economics 101 - too bad we have lawyers, politicians and academics running the country vs folks who understand macro-economics.

obama needs to just go away this was not the time for america to vote in an inexperieced politician now that he is in we are screwed.I just wish that the presidential election would have been about who best qualifies for the job and no the color of his skin not being racist but every black american voted for this man because he was black and WE NEED OUR FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT. Academia said last year that the Economy will be worse and we may look at 20% + Unemployment.

Obama lies as Our economy dies!

Listened to a local radio show last night. Host was interviewing the mayor of Boston, a democrat, but nice enough guy. The mayor was willing to admit that government bureaucracy had all but ruined the intended purpose of the stimulus package. Money slated for employing teens over the summer was so caught up in red tape, they won't see the money for another year.

This is what happens when big brother is put in charge of economic growth.

Of course it's failing. He and his czars are clueless when it comes to running something as small as a hotdog stand. But a nation? These monkeys are so far out of their league it's tragic. Onutsack is an idiot. His administration is worse.
