Iran protests: 'They have covered up the deaths'

This is an account by a doctor working in Tehran who says the death toll from the protests following Iran's disputed election is much higher than the official figure of 20. His account is published as part of the Guardian's project to trace those killed and detained during the unrest. The Guardian has been unable to independently verify his account

I have been working in a public hospital in… » Full Story on The Guardian

Once again, this is just more evidence of the gtruly criminal nature of this Nazi regime in Iran. There's nothing more to say about it. We should not bother to even put on a show of trying to engage or negotiate with it, since it is all too clear that they are totally unwilling and unable to do so, even with thier own people.

No one expected honesty from the Iranian government. We know more people were killed and there will probably be many sought out and put in jail for their participation in these protests.

As though we have never covered anything up. It's not right in any sense to cover things up, but gets disgusting to hear some Americans talk like they are all righteous.

The Iranian's are a smart people and in todays world with access to communication, they will not allow the dictator and his cohorts lies to stick in the peoples minds. The people will spread the truth......it can't and won't be stopped, no matter how many threats the dictator imposes. Someday soon the noose of truth will be tightened around the dicators neck........Death To The Dictator!!

Sympathy for the Iranian people… Why?
For 30 years they have lived with this regime, why the 'revolution’ now?

They haven’t just woken up to the fact that they are living in the country responsible for the spread of fascist Islamic ideology, the country which finances terror world wide, I need not elaborate on all the horror that has emanated from Iran over the last 3 decades, we have all suffered. (Those poor British children sent their dads corpses on father’s day as a message to the British government, what kind of twisted mentality thought that one up?)
Now they want a change of a regime which is going to bring the wrath of the free world down on there heads, no wonder. They look at Iraq and think if we continue to support this guy, that’s going to be us.
So now they bleat and cry for help, well tough….it’s too little too late.
Sorry ‘nice Iranians’ you are collateral damage, this is war.

The evil days of the mullahs are numbered and Obama's appeasement policies are only delaying their inevitable ouster from power. In the meantime though many Iranian people will fight and die for their freedom.
Those of you, who disparage them for not acting sooner, remember that Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was our beloved US of A!
Iranians are not anti-Semites! Their evil current government is and they are embarrassed and ashamed of their government’s spewing anti-Semitism. They have been living under Nazi conditions for the last 30 years, so please try to walk a mile in their shoes before you start casting stones. Remember that this is a country were innocent men and women have in fact been brutally stoned to death for expressing dissent! When was the last time any of us lived under those conditions? Please reserve your judgment for the mullahs not the people they oppress!

Hey guys, out of curiosity, WHY the majority Muslims from all other nations accross the World don't seems to care if fellow Muslims are bombing or butchering fellow Muslims?

It seems these majority Muslims accross the globe just keep quiet and does not even condemned the brutal killing in Iran, Afghanistan & Iran???

Is it like in their culture to kill women, children & elders???

Kindly asked the same questions and just hopefully we can get an answer from the Muslims.

I support the protesters and wish them success.

But even though I would like to see evidence against the corrupt Iranian government, it is not proof to read this eloquent report "The Guardian has been unable to independently verify".

Also the statement "Medical staff are under huge pressure to cover up the injuries they treated; I know one doctor who killed themself." is unverified even by the doctor who wrote this. I don't know if the suicide is meant to be a secret; but if he could have at least given a name there would be a chance of fitting together the puzzle pieces. This is just a rumor.

I have to be fair and stick to my own rules whether the result in in my favor or not. I suspect these things are true; but I'll have to wait until there is confirmation. I'm assuming this was translated. If the doctor wrote English fluently and stated, "I know one doctor who killed themself", that would be suspicious.

Faded - WELCOME

You are right. Most Americans do not understand Iran

And there are other things you should know

- none of the people on this thread professing their support for the Iranian people are telling the truth

They don't care about you. They don't care about Iran. They wanted to bomb you not one month ago

Most Americans know this and not a few of the phony posts above

May God be with you

No offense, but I'll comment this. Those people in that part of the world has always been on war since the creation of the earth. They don't know what is right or wrong anymore. It seems like they have develop a mentality problem. I don't know if I should feel angry at them or feel sorry for them. It seems like thay have been cursed throughout history. :) I think We in this country are beginning to face same problem. Prepare ourself before looking in a three-way mirror.
