Meet the GOP's wrecking crew

On July 15, Bob Corker was a happy man.

"I cannot think of a more exciting day, even more so than Election Night, for me," the Republican senator from Tennessee said in a conference call that day. The reason for his elation was the announcement that Volkswagen, lured by up to $500 million worth of incentives from the state government, had agreed to build a $1 billion plant near Chattanooga,… » Full Story on Salon.com

The US economy is CRUMBLING and our elected officials go away on a month long holiday break!!! What the hell is Congress doing? They can't sit down and hammer out a compromise that's decent for everybody (especially us TAXPAYERS) involved?

If an immediate family member of a Senator or Representative was lying in an emergency room bleeding to death, I'M SURE that they would not want the doctor to look at the clock and leave because it's vacation time. WELL, this economy is "bleeding to death" and people are hurting. You were ALL elected to serve this country. SO, GET YOUR POMPOUS A**ES BACK TO WASHINGTON AND DO YOUR JOB!!!

US TAXPAYERS

The GOP senators are vilified for being home-state supporters and having anti-union sentiments. But aren't the 'big three' supporters backing their home state too? And don't they have a pro-union agenda? Which is better? Let's see, the non-union companies build cars that are more eco-friendly and that people actually buy and the union companies build cars that nobody wants while simultaneously sucking down billions in taxpayer-funded subsidies. Which is better for America? Hmmm, that's a tougn one......!

I hope this is the last gasp of a fully rotten and unethical republican party. I DO NOT wish them well in the New Year.

Thank Goodness for "Right to Work" States. Unions are what got the american car companies into trouble in the first place.
Hurrah for the Southern Republicans that say no to stimulus money to be given out as welfare irregardless of circumstandce.
Boo on my California "Republican"(not so sure) Governor who says give me the money. We already give out way too much welfare money attracting people from states that will not support them so they relocate to California. Yuck!
