From what I have seen in DC lately, I lean toward Volgers assessment.
Keep in mind that Reagan our 40th president, said that "Government is not the solution to the problem, government is the problem." Government regulates insurance forbidding catastrophic coverage and coverage choices: costs go up; government offers nationalized health care. Freddie and Fannie hadh "affordable housing" which hurt the people they were supposed to help and cause an economic catastrophy at the same time! They say "deregulation" but mean more regulation and when it fails they blame "deregulation." It is the same tired game over and over again! Is it not appropriate that a few American citizens are more than miffed? We need to return to founding prinicples; especially the concept of "limited government!"
