Travis Barker Blames Pilots, Equipment for Plane Crash

Travis Barker has filed a lawsuit blaming the pilots and defective equipment for a plane crash that severely injured the rocker and DJ AM and killed four others. The L.A. Superior Court lawsuit, also filed Friday by the mother of Barker's bodyguard, Charles "Che" Still, who died in the crash, alleges the pilots "negligently decided to abort" the takeoff when the Learjet's tires failed in… » Full Story on People.com

OH MY GOD!!! Let's just blame the dead. What A shame. Let the rich get richer. Like he needs to put a law suit on someone. THIS IS THE TRUE AMERICAN WAY!! If he was a self respecting person he would THANK GOD for being ALIVE and move on. BUT NOOOOO gottta get that MONEY. HELLO!!! GOD just gave you a wake up call. Need I say more?

Just because he has money and is famous doesn't mean that his assistant, body guard and others were. If he backs a lawsuit it will be taken more seriously because he is a more famous and because the others are dead means that the courts don't have to look at them.
Yes, God gave him a wake up call, that is between him and God, not you ...
Does that mean that no one must have consequences... the plane was improperly kept, does no one need to be responsible because the sole survivors are rich? How do you know that he isn't thanking god for being alive? No, I don't think you need to say anymore, Aileen.

I pity the families of the pilots. Their family members are dead, and Travis Barker has chosen to use his celebrity to drag their names through the mud.

I understand he probably wants to get some money for his two friends that died, and that is fine. File a lawsuit against those that manufactured the plane, those that trained the pilots, those that inspected the plane and gave it the ok to fly, but leave the DEAD pilots out of it. I doubt that the pilots themselves inspected the brakes and tires - there are mechanics that do that and sign off that the plane is safe to fly.

All I can say is that karma is a . . . well, you know.

Yes, but he isn't suing the pilots, but they were partially to blame, according to the FAA. When the tire was flat, and the brakes failed (which I agree with you on suing the company that was to keep the plane in proper condition) procedure was to take the plane up and the pilots failed to do so. (Although, I am sure that this was accidental) This was what the pilots were trained to do and they failed to do it. Many circumstances here... so where do you begin?

If your friend is driving a car when then tire blows out and causes a crash. Everyone dies except for you. Do you form a lawsuit against the dead driver? NO. Accidents happen. Be thankful that you're alive.

I personally knew one of the pilots and she was a brilliant person. I am sure she did what she thought was at the best interest of herself and her passengers. Her family has been through so much already without having this lawsuit. The plane was faulty so sue the manufactorer or mechanics who inspected the plane. Let the families mourn and be thankful you are alive.

this is the most sickest thing I have read in a long time are you friggin kidding me suing a grieving family who are just ordinary people who probably barley had enough for the expensive funeral. Why what will this lawsuit solve?

Seriously even if the pilots are partly to blame is it necessary to bring their names into this anymore? They are gone for those mistakes. I am sure that Travis and DJ AM have greaty suffered and I cannot imagine, but my God why sue? Accidents and tragedies happen everyday. I guess some of can never have enough fame and money???

I think that this lawsuit is horrible, what kind if person would sue the dead. I know he is in pain and wants to blame someone but be thankful you are still alive unlike the poor pilots you are suing. I have no respect for Travis Barker ot the others that think that suing is the answer. It is a terrible thing that happened but Damn! I will make sure all my friends stop supporting him and then he might need that money he gets.

He needs to get a Grip on life. Taking theese poor pilots down. who were injured on the plane, He is not the most important person in the world. think about the people who actually LOST THIER LIVES instead of some stuck up rich celebrity SNOB.

i agree that this is unfortunate. i think those pilots and their families have been punished enough. i dont think mr. barker should rush to judgement because these reports are never 100 percent conclusive and filing a lawsuit against people who were killed in such a horrific way just seems vengeful and as though he is not doing it for the right reasons. mr. barker would most likely begin to heal his spirit if he would redirect his hurt and anger and focus on his life. everything happens for a reason, fair or not. we have to trust that god knows what he is doing. as for his "disfigurement", my lord, who cares. he is still a very handsome man, and think about the drummer from def leppard...if he can overcome what happened to him, then certainly mr. barker can. i am not judging him for filing, but i feel he will one day regret the decision. my husband and i will continue to pray for everyone involved.
