"Idol" host Ryan Seacrest signs $45 million deal

Reuters - Ryan Seacrest is Fox's 45-Million-Dollar Man. » Full Story on omg!

I cast my vote on passing on Kara as an Idol judge. She takes up too much time, has nothing new to add, and her rambling full-of-herself comments are annoying. She fouls up an other wise very good show.

Great to hear that show host can receive all that money, when the economy is in a sink hole. He would have returned at a MUCH lower rate, guaranteed! But they seem to think more rich to the riches. Way to put the money into the economy. Keep watching "America" you will only make THEM richer.

That 45 million could do a lot of good for needy people all over the world. Too bad it's going towards a celeb's salary. Is it really that necessary to pay them that much??

All of you need to stop "hating" on this guy. If any of you could do the job he's doing and get paid that type of money, you would do it in a heart beat! To Ryan Seacrest I say congrats and make that money, man!

That is a huge slap in the face to us hard working Americans. They are paying this guy $45 million for a stupid reality show while we all try to stay afloat. This show along with the other dumbass shows need to go off the air. There are too too many reality shows out there.

Totally insane. He should donate a huge percentage of that $45M to the adopted children of that couple that was murdered in Pensacola Florida. Do some good with his windfall gains...

Much of Seacrest's millions will unfortunately be used to pay medical bills. He has a severe intolerance to glutin, and for some reason Adam Lambert likes to put wheat on his pecker.

pretty sick how people who are qualified to work hard make maybe make about $30- $50k a year at most and Hollywood pays Seacrest $15 mil a year for little 5 minute segments. I understand he does more behind the scenes I'm sure but not $15 mil worth

Why do these people make so much money? Where does it come from? During this time of economic troubles, how to sponsors justify the ads which go to pay these judges and other executives. It all rolls downhill to us, the consumers! As much as I enjoy Idol, I am now considering boycotting. No one pays me $15 million to watch me do my job.

This is why Hollywood should stay out of the political arena, they are not in the real world. Nothing against them but they are not Average Americans and have no idea what makes an average Americans pay check.
