This seems like a perfectly absurd position for biden to take considering the war mongering bibi netanyahu is champing at the bit to attack Iran. The reasons this would be such an ill conceived position include:1-Low probability of success.2-Recognition by the world community that the US basically gave Israel our approval.3-Condemnation of us and Israel by the world community.4-Why doesn't the US attack North Korea which is even more aggressive Iran in its actions?Its difficult to see that such an attack would ultimately serve US interests well. Maybe it would soothe Israeli concerns for a year or two while proving that the tail does actually wag the dog.

Biden's words are technically correct but saying that Israel acts independently of US support, tacit acceptance, or understanding is nonsense. We continue to pump over $6 billiion of tax payer dollars into the Israeli economy every year. Without us they would have imploded years ago from their disasterous foreign policy adventures. Same with Egypt but on a per capita basis the effect on Israeli is much more dramatic. Biden is a major liability but he seems to match up verbally with liability to the country that his boss has become. The idea that Israel could somehow declare war on Iran and win is perposterous. They could bomb them, and that's about it. Now I hate Islam and I hate terrorists but Israel is in the wrong in a lot of things. How many of you would stand for being uprooted from your homes and having someone foreign establishing colonies on your land? I know I would fight. Now that doesn't give them the right to blow themselves up in the middle of a cafe or launch rockets at civilians, but it doesn't change the fact that the Palestinians have a legitimate gripe, as do the Kurds. Obama is going to Russia with the stunning Michelle to tell the Russians, armed to the teeth with thousands of nukes, that they have the wrong idea about how the world works and should play nice like he does. He insults their national dignity, when he should ask the Russians to influence the Iranians, especially since their nuclear reactor was built by Russian engineers. While the Israelis have the absolute right to a preemptive strike on Iran, if only because Israel is a civilized country defending itself against the savages who threaten it, it would have been better to work a deal with the Russians.
