Massive Squid Wash Up in Quake Aftermath

It was an odd start to the morning Saturday in La Jolla, Calif.

First, residents were jostled out of bed at 7.34 a.m. by a 4.0 magnitude earthquake that was centered 19 miles out in the ocean.

“I was having coffee up on the balcony and I felt it shaking,” Kate Lutkemeier said.

She wasn’t the only one.

Check out the footage of the sea animals--those poor creatures. I hope all were able to be saved---it does say that people tried to put them back out to sea, but it doesn't say if they were successful with all of them...

Hey Spiritgirl I was there and it was crazy! Some people managed to throw them back but they would keep coming back to shore. It was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. It must have been the earthquake. I have lived in La Jolla for years and I have never seen anything like it.

It is unfortunate for the sea creatures as well as the people in California. We don't always understand nature; however, I'm sure that Al Gore will determine it has to do with golbal warming and Bush will get all the blame for the sea creatures fate also! Maybe if everyone in California would drive more fuel efficient cars, the earthquakes could be prevented????

Very strange behavior but since other animals seem to feel the earthquakers or even storms approaching, I am note taken back by the action on their part.

All of you "animal rights" people really need to get a grip on things..first off..animals were put on this earth by GOD for human consumption..they dont have emotions..they just do what is instinct...for all you people that feel "bad" for these animals..grow up..thats how it is..you cannot do anything about it..Lets see any of you stop any of this..you cant. you have no control so get a life and accept things how they are...thats mother nature...no need to cry about it..geez..you animal activist really piss me off..animals have no emotions..can the rest of us sane people not drill that enough into your skulls? you people really need to take a look around and see that is how nature is!!! its been this way for how many years now....and you still cant seem to understand? Hmm, this cannot be a good thing because if the fish/non fish are jumping out of the water, what else is going on the people aren't noticing. We need to figure this out quickly because it might be the start of something fixable!!

I'm up in Humboldt COunty and we have seals washing up on shore here. There's a huge elephant seal rotting up on the beach, a smaller seal furhter down and there was a smaller one, still alive further down from that. They are saying that the baby seals are comng up because the ater has warmed a few degrees causing the fish that seals feed on to love 40 feet deep which the baby seals can't manage. That makes sense for the baby seals, but not for the elephant seal or those squids. Some say the Navy is conduciton sonar experiments which throws these animal's sense of equalibrium and direction off.

Whtever the cause, it's serious and eveen if for just our own safety , we should find out what's at the bottom of this.

Calamari is a great Italian dish,sauted in butter,salt,pepper and a little
oregano and finished off lying on a bed of angel hair pasta with a pasta
sauce mixed with clam sauce a squeeze of lemon and a hot loaf of garlic Italian bread and a glass of old world Grappa.A lot of Italian families on the East Coast and Chicago and elsewhere have homemade recipes of this fermenting in their dry dark basements or in a dark closet.Now that is a great meal.I first ran across this in Cicero,
Illinois in 1985 and I eat it whenever I can find an Authentic Italian Restaurant owned by an old world Italian family that has kept their
food their resaurant and recipies to old world traditions.It is the best way to eat Italian food.I love to eat squid or octapus.It is the real deal.
