Taller People Earn More Money

They make $789 more per inch per year, studies find. But why? » Full Story on LiveScience

This is a bunch of hog wash. Most of the world's greatest leaders are 5'6" or shorter. Most of the world's smartest people are not tall. I promise you that there is no such study and if this Judge guy did come up with a study then it would consist mostly of professional sports salaries. My question to you, the writer, are you guys trying to condition people to feel that they need to pay you guys more because you are tall? I am ashamed that yahoo even printed such lies.

I do not recommend this article at all. I am tall so I was too dumb to click the right icon. Not all tall people are dumb, but I am. So this shows that your theory is wrong.

I wonder if they figured out the pay scale in inches, I'd like to know how much I could have been making if I was taller!

Did "they" also do any comparison studies on the sizes of noses, fingers, ears, or feet concerning money? The next time I see a person on the street wanting money to do alcohol research, I'm gonna give it to him. It would be money better spent.

This is accurate. Now this doesn't mean that short people or average height people don't make money or that all tall people make money.

The exceptions don't make it the rule. Tall people do earn more money and i am yet more evidence. I am 6'4.5 and make between 300,000 and 400,000. A lot friends are shorter (Under 6'0 foot) and make a lot less. A cousin of mine is short 5'7 and he makes more money (He is a surgeon).

Education is important but not much. I am a high school graduate and a college dropout who attended 1 semester (While not attending classes hahaha (CSUN) .

I don't know about you, but I'm going to strap on my roller skates. They give me about 3 inches more height and about 5 mph. I always feel more powerful when I'm taller and feel like I can fly like a free bird when I'm rolling down the sidewalk. That is worth more than money to me.

i would in fact have to disagree with this article. i may be mature for my age and in fact tall as well, but i don't get the best grades, and im unemployed. i dont even get payed any different than anyone else or even more as far as i know. this article really needs more statistics on life experiences rather than just what the majority is as far as employment of tall people like myself.

This is the stupidist thing that is perpetuated and has resulted in a large number of morons being appointed executives in companies just because they're tall.
Consequently, the most competent person never gets the job. A tall BS in Maths (with a C average) becomes a sales manager in a chemical company. What is this colossal idiot going to contribute?

So so I guess. I really believe its what kind of career you are trying to get into. Some jobs offer more depending on what kind of work it is. My second job outside of college was 50k, then I went on to 60k currently as of now. Living in VA seems like I'm making only half, damn taxes, but when your single with no kids, it makes me happy. I'm 6'0 tall....

Of all the studies done as a just because//this has to be one of more unimportant findings to date...just like Larry's reply..I would like to know the cost and who in the world payed for it. Things like this expenditure gall the hell out of me...try spending the funds on..oh, I know..how about helping to find the cure for cancer.

Yeah, I heard this way back in 1992 with one of my marketing profs who claimed he was an expert on this subject - namely, - that tall people and short people - on average - do much better. It was harsh to hear - given that I am not long legged. But what's really infuriating- is that in the last company I worked for - not ONE woman in Executive Mgt was short - they were all tall and boney - and not particularly brilliant.
