Presidential Surveillance Program: Spying Went Beyond Warrantless Wiretapping

WASHINGTON — The Bush administration authorized secret surveillance activities that still have not been made public, according to a new government report that questions the legal basis for the unprecedented anti-terrorism program.

It's unclear how much valuable intelligence was yielded by the surveillance program started after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, according to the unclassified… » Full Story on Huffington Post

Look, I don't like Bush either, but let's focus on the real threat to our country now. The filthy Al Qaeda infiltrator our new Hitler and all his little Eichmans. Wire tapping has never impacted by life, but the theft of trillions of dollars by Congress for the terrorists at Citigroup that funds Al Qaeda, Acorn, and Hamas does.

Get rid of them all. Say goodbye to the incumbents. Send them packing with not lifetime pay for their suitcases.

This story is nothing but a red-herring to distract the American public with old news. The past President was withing his rights and let's leave it there. What is the purpose of raiding the graveyard except to take our eyes 'off the Congressional ball" where Pelosi is trying to deflect her lies and has Panetta searching for excuses. This is the 'secret' program that was never implemented along with another 5 thousand other ideas out there. The current party people are masters at the art of deflection and obfucation (the art of deceit, confusion and darkness). Too bad our liberal press is so willing to be their hand-maiden where they may otherwise be involved in reporting real news.

I told you so. And here is something else. Beware of a guy who allows himself, or others under him, to put another person down to lift himself up higher. This story did not come from Bush.

LOL, you people are funny. Does the word denial ever come up in conversations? Bush was doing unconstitutional things all along, and you would rather attack Obama for bous claims than call attention to excesses in the precious administration. Spare me.

Hey Mr Obvious, remember Ford? Nixon? Agnew as VP? And thats just the tip of the political foul ups.....how about Carter and the hostage rescue? If it takes risky measures to keep the evil ones at bay and the country safe, I choose, personally, wire taps to keep a close eye on the evil ones. And by the way, the CIA misled Bush....remember? That is why we went to war in Iraq, not for some cowboy ideas most Dems think Bush had. No, Obamas press buddies are selling this story to take the heat off of the goofy socialist ideas our dear leader is implementing. Sucks when approval ratings drop, don't it Dems?

Bush violated the Oath of Office, and Cheney's a paranoid schizophrenic. Just think how much more energy we could have if we could only harness more power from the scum!

The country has already been destroyed but previous Presidents. You may not like it but that's the truth. And when the next white guy gets into office and continues this Phucked political rape of the country--what will your excuse be then?

All of Bush's secret craziness is about to come out and of course you'll defend him. You're gonna say whatever you want about Obama--do your worst.

Know this the next Republican president will be the one who finishes America and its citizens off.

The CIA is full of good ideas. Remember MKULTRA and Frank Olson? They publicy admitted to drugging their own people as well as many unsuspecting American citizens. Olson, one of their own scientists, committed suicide because they were giving him LSD without his knowledge to see if it could be used to drive foreign leaders insane. His wife and children were completely in the dark about his reasons for suicide for years.

They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

People willing to trade their freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both.
If we restrict liberty to attain security we will lose them both.

the REASON this gets new legs is b/c BO is not only NOT going to stop doing this himself, but indeed expand it, and this time, he will do so against his political opponents, just like the marxist he is! "baby you aint seen nothin yet!" besides, this serves another purpose--to DISTRACT away from BO's failures that the dumbass public is starting to see for what it is.

back to bush--i am sick and tired of getting the slanted 1-sided story on this from the AP and mainstream press...these "warrantless" taps were done with FOREIGN calls TO/FROM ppl in the US, not done to find out who was bangin who down the street, morons!

Yes and Obama is doing the same thing. It does not matter anymore who is elected to do what..., they are all following the same agenda which is to destroy this country and set up a one world goverment. Bush's lies were exposed. Obama's are not. All we hear about Obama is how wondeful he is when in fact he's worse than Bush. Come on, people. We're being lied to.

Liberals beware!! If you read too much of the republican drivel on Buzz you are at risk of the following.
1) Temporarily lowering your IQ to their level (studies show 25 points less on average)
2) Definatly needing a shower to try and remove the stink of prejudice and hatred.
3) Thinking that armageddon might not be such a bad thing if it was held in Texas.

CIA, intelligence is not intended to obey law, is there to protect US interests. Sharing it with the turds we have representing us in congress is like giving nukes to the terrorists, our worst enemies are our elected officials, they represent themselves, their lobbying buddies, and families. Look at comments by rep from nevada whose family paid off on his affair as if it was a charitable contribution. Look at Nancy push for socialized healthcare, socialized energy (cap and tax) while her husband is a investment banker......think I need a shot of that kool aid they're handing out.................
