Schumer: With Franken Seated No Need To Compromise On Public Option

One of the leading Senate Democrats in the health care reform battle said that the seating of Al Franken has given the party the purpose and direction it needs to ensure that a public option for insurance coverage remains in any bill.

"If you did a consensus within the Democratic Party, you would find the level-playing-field public option to be the answer," said Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. "And… » Full Story on Huffington Post

Schumer, old boy; You just load up those votes for socialized health care. With that and your crap and tax votes, you will become the party of the unknown in a few short years.

If being a "progressive liberal" works so well then please explain why California is Billions in debt, passing out IOU's instead of refunds, and is on the brink of being bankrupt? They are the richest state in the union with the highest state tax rate. They also have the most "free social programs". If it will not work for them, what makes people think it will work for the rest of the country?

There is an awakening of America in the works...and it has nothing to do with jumping off of the cliff to socialism.
Get Glen Beck's book "Common Sense", read it and pass it on. 2012 is the year to end this insanity and get back the America that we love.
God Bless America!!

Schumer, one of the richest men in the U.S. wants us little people to be happy with their version of better health care for Americans. How many medical experts, family doctors, surgeons, nurses, hospital administrators, and most important of all, the public, did they consult as they were rushing this through? It's nice to hear rich politicians telling me what kind of health care reform I need when all of them are exempt. What happened to Obama's campaign promise "you will enjoy the same health care that Senator McCain and I do"?

Be sure of this: anyone who votes yes for Cap and Trade/Energy Bill WILL BE voted out of Office because we people of common sense are banded together. We WILL even go to a different state to campaign against ANYONE who votes yes on this. But first contact the Senators so this piece of crap is stopped in its tracks so this ridiculous bill won't harm our kids and grandkids.

Greg stop talking you have showed your not even smart enough to engage an intelligent debate. You're ignorance is pissing me off.

He claimed that Franken never sued in this election, when the facts show that Coleman was declared the winner in November and Franken then sued.

Dems have the votes, but the big insurance corporations have the money, and votes can be bought.
The U.S. spends twice as much on health care as all but 5 or 6 countries in the world, and we are close to twice as much on the 5 or 6 that do spend more than half what we spend. That is on a per capita basis. Part of the reason we spend so much is we get better care, but most of the reason is that 30% of what we spend goes into the pockets of insurance companies and is never seen again. They will pull as much money out of their pockets as it will take to buy enough politicians to block meaningful reform.

I can't even stand to look at this fool. All their fancy education has become REALLY overrated. Greed, and enslavement are the goals of government. They will put all the U.S. Citizens into a coral where they can milk us for every damn dollar we have. This is nothing but fascism, socialism and soon totalitarian rule. We will have no jobs or source of income so we will have to rely on the gov for our very existance.
Obama could have bailed out the poor, but no, that is not to be. We are to be taken from, not given to.

Kevin et. al,

Minnesota law requires a recount when the vote is so close. Franken declined to concede, he followed the process. It seems the right wing can't do more than moan about elections they lost. Guys regroup come up with better ideas that actually address the issues rather than simply screaming "socialism," and better candidates then you'll have a chance again. I'm tired of the whining.

Franken was a loser at every other career he's tried. I can't believe that a state would send somebody like him to DC. That's no better than the people that run their dog or cat in an election just for humor.
What a joke! It's too bad this country will have to pay for their sorry azz sense of humor.
