Brownback And Landrieu Introduce Bill To Ban Mermaids

Great news, everyone! At some point last week, Senators Sam Brownback (R-Kan.) and Mary Landrieu (D-La.) must have finished fighting all the terrorists and repaired the economy and reversed all the bad unemployment trends, because how else could you explain the two of them introducing a law that would prohibit scientists from making mermaids and centaurs and Jersey devils and whatnot? Other than… » Full Story on Huffington Post

What, no MANIMALS? This is not science fiction apparently. Of course, there is the legend of the Goatman in Prince Georges County Maryland, so perhaps there is a precedent.

OMG!!!!!!!!! How much time do these senators have on thier hands that they can come up with a bill like this. That is so dumb. If this becomes law does it mean no one will be able to watch the little mermaid?
Why do people do dumb things? I just dont understand!

why is this in the top 10.. what about the immigration reform or the pushing thru of healthcare... why is crap rising to the top, rather than the important issues... which are being ignored... again its like boiling us in slowly heating water, like a frog... NO ONE NOTICES? WE ARE BEING DESTROYED. MY FOLKS SHOULD HAVE STAYED IN THE USSR... CAUSE ITS COMING LIKE A FREIGHT TRAIN..

First off, the ARTICLE is a ridiculous rambling rant of something blown out of proportion. When you get through the stupidity of the article itself, you are left with ONE thing: a senator who is interested in BANNING THE EXPERIMENTATION OF COMBINING HUMAN ORGANISMS AND ANIMAL ORGANISMS. The senators are in NO WAY interested in banning "The Little Mermaid"--if you read the dumb "journalist's" very dumb article, you will see it is a weak attempt to draw a conclusion that is absolutely unwarranted. You all should be asking "WE PAY THIS STUPID JOKE OF A WRITER TO WRITE CRAPOLA LIKE THIS??" Search for those experimental research efforts of combining humans and animals...it'll shock you the efforts that have been around for decades. NOT for the squeamish...and neither is this juvenile, unintelligent article that reaches for sensationalism with hyperbole and fantastical suppositions.

Evidently this "writer" (not to degrade real writers) has done no research into this story beyond the R at the end of the names of those involved.
This should serve as an object lesson in the current state of our media system.
Nor is this an issue to make light of. Although not a great book, check the research in the back of Michael Creighton's "Next"
