Hagel, Unrestrained, Lashes Into Bush, Rush And The GOP

Two months before he leaves office, Sen. Chuck Hagel is increasingly unrestrained by political niceties.

Appearing at a forum at the Johns Hopkins School of Advances International Studies, the outgoing Nebraska Republican leveled harsh criticism at his own party, the lack of intellectual curiosity among some of his colleagues, the Bush administration's handling of nearly every aspect of… » Full Story on Huffington Post

It's both refreshening and heartening to see that there are still REPUBLICANS around, that represent the "Grand Old Party" as it once was, before the extreme right wing radicals took control, and decimated the American political process.

Sen. Chuck Hagel is one of the few members of the GOP who has the intellect and credentials to critically evaluate the past activities and current status of his party. A very refreshing article. The underlying problem withe the GOP is that, as adolescents, most members of the far right wing of party spent too much time alone in their rooms.

A few decades back there were forward thinking moderate Republicans of prominence. The former Republican governor Dan Evans of Washington State was one of these. Now the Republicans there have tried to distance themselves from the label itself. I am a progressive Democrat but I believe we need diverse perspectives to find the best solutions to the incredible problems we face.

It was great to hear Chuck Hagel say this, but the politicians already know this. Yell at them, make them feel bad about themselves (ha!) for a while, turn around and they're back, having now ignored any lesson that may have been learned.

Excuse me if I didn't go to the Huffington Post link, but I have better things to do w/my time than read anything that wanna be has to say, even IF it's in my room alone.
All you secular progressives (read America hating democrats) go ahead & talk your smack. Your BOY Barry won.
I think that the gop lost the elections for not running & not governing as Conservatives. (Serves them right to suffer Sen. Hagel!)
I got a feeling Obama will probably be as good a president as Carter was. If I'm right, we're all going to suffer & it'll serve us right to suffer!
We get the government we deserve! To all the big government "progressives" out there who voted for change, let me ask you, how are things going to change? It looks like Hussein Obama's administration is just going to be Clinton III. Maybe this time around he'll at least go to the pantry or anywhere else except the oval "oriffice" to get his wick dipped!

So why wasn't Hegel the Presidential nominee? Perhaps the GOP should take a long hard look at themselves. I would have voted for Hagel.

On October, 10, 2002 Bev Harris, author of the upcoming “Black Box Voting: Ballot-Tampering” in the 21st Century, revealed that Republican Senator Chuck Hagel has ties to the largest voting machine company, Election Systems & Software (ES&S). She reported that he was an owner, Chairman and CEO of Election Systems & Software (called American Information Systems until name change filed in 1997). ES&S was the ONLY company whose machines counted Hagel’s votes when he ran for election in 1996 and 2002. The Hill, a Washington D.C. newspaper that covers the U.S. national political scene, confirmed her findings today and uncovered more details.

Thanks Chuck. Now do something about it. I hate our elected leaders and the crooked system their locked in.

He should ban Limbaugh. I'm all for free speech but... what did P.T. Barnum say? "This country is full of weak minded idiots, and about 10 million of em' tune into Limbaugh's show every day."

He is only mouthing off since he has been mentioned as a possible pick for Obama's cabinet. Folks, don't be so fooled by these crooks who pose as our elected officials. You need to start thinking outside the Democrat and Republican boxes-there is nothing in our Constitution which says we can only have two parties-we have allowed these two to hijack our nation.

You pathetic hypocrites, praising this guy because he agrees with you.

Last week, you'd have been threatening his children and wishing he'd get cancer.

Sick, tinfoil-hat-wearing moonbats.

Wow, so refreshing to hear some basic, common sense from the GOP! The neo-cons have ruined the party that once stood for LESS government involvment, especially into our private lives. And finally ... someone who says it like it is about rush bimbo, the hate-filled, evil-spewing idiot that only likes to cheap shots - while he adds NOTHING positive to ANYTHING. Except, that is, perhaps to the pocket books of all those doctors he ran around to to get the duplicate prescriptions for HIS illegal drug addiction.
