Easy, healthy, yummy and the kids won't know they're eating REAL food. All of the ingredients keep well in the refrigerator for long periods of time - always on hand and, again, really tasty!

I just completed a 5-day training on the essentials of raw food preparation and know that food prepared in this way is most nutritious and that Dr. Kim is right on with this recipe.

Dr. Kim, I am so excited to try out this recipe!!! But I have to ask, as a person watching her weight, would you say this is still a good option as a snack before a workout? I understand there's a lot of natural sugar in this recipe, and that isn't my concern so much as how many calories a ball has (approximately?). Thanks!!

ReinaG, I would say that as long as you didn't eat more than a couple, it shouldn't be a problem. I've lost 100 lbs. in 11 months by eating this way - raw food, especially, seems to make the weight melt right off me, even if it's calorie-dense, as long as it is also nutrient dense, since a little goes a long way towards satisfying hunger.

We need some more articles like this. I would like to see a low sugar raw bar with whey protein as a meal replacement. Anybody have an idea? Dates have too much sugar for me.

Thanks for all your wonderful recipes and photos - here is another simple recipe - my favourite mixture for truffles.

Carob Truffles

2 Cups Almonds
1 Cup dates - chopped finely
1 tsp carob powder
60-80 ml water
1 to 2 tsp vanilla essence (depending on taste)
Dessicated coconut for rolling truffles in.

Blend almonds to crumbs. Slowly add small handful of dates through chute of blender whilst blending and blend for a couple of minutes until well mixed. Add carob powder and blend again to mix in. Add vanilla essence to water and pour through blender chute whilst blending again. The mixture is fairly dampish. Roll into balls, roll in coconut and put into freezer overnight. I keep in the freezer for a snack.
