Submitted: Jul 3, 2008 - United Airlines is joining several of its airline peers by testing the sales of snacks during flights, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Four- to-five ounce snacks will cost $3, starting Aug. 1.

The carrier will continue to offer its mini-snacks of pretzels for folks who don't want to purchase anything.

United is also bumping up prices for alcoholic beverages by $1.
