We're going to be in for a long ride of downward mobility, so it's best just to face this and learn how to "make do"...Planting a garden (or doing container gardening if you live in an apartment). Learning to sew. Learning to repair and maintain your stuff. Bartering. Raising chickens. Riding bikes instead of driving everywhere. Clotheslines instead of clothes dryers. Alternate heat, like fireplaces...it's going to be a lot different than what we're used to. My granny survived the Great Depression with 10 kids to raise, so I think that we'll all manage as well...
