Joseph Cao: Health Care's LONE Republican Supporter Is Rep. Anh "Joseph" Cao

One Republican lawmaker out of 177 crossed party lines to support the health care reform legislation offered by Democrats.

Rep. Anh "Joseph" Cao, the Louisiana Republican who hails from a decidedly Democratic New Orleans district, voted yea on the final passage of legislation. He joined 219 Democrats to make the final margin 220 to 215 in favor of reform's passage.

Cao was a major (and possibly… » Full Story on Huffington Post

Please tell me why you would oppose the following provision in the heath care reform bill:

1. Creates a government-run plan, or "public option," to offer insurance coverage to compete with private sector insurance companies.

2. Sets up health insurance "exchanges," or marketplaces, where consumers can easily compare coverage and rates.

3. Ends blanket exemption for insurers from anti-trust laws.

4. Provides federal financial help for lower and middle income consumers so they can obtain coverage.

5. Bars insurers from denying or limiting coverage because of pre-existing conditions.

6. Bars insurers from imposing lifetime limits on coverage.

7. Expands Medicaid coverage to more people.

How are these provisions anything but beneficial to The Average Working American Family?

No surprise here. Just quick reminder this is about money for his state. [via the stimulus bill and recovery effort after the flood].
As per the President's statement to the media last month.
He was paid for before the vote
So yet another government pawn bought and paid for. Watch for the news report that his state gets more money .

Considering how the Feds have run Medicare and Social Security not to mention how they have totally bungled the distribution of H1N1 vaccine, (except to terrorists at Gitmo), I can only assume that this so-called healthcare bill will become one enormous debacle.

Mamma Kass, here's some god things about someone causing you a car accident.

1 You're relieved when the cop affirms it wasn't your fault.

2 You get time off work, woo-hoo!.

3 When they paint your car, some of those old parking lot dings get
fixed, too.

4 The doc gives you some go-o-o-d drugs for pain.

5 You get pampered at the physical therapy place with heat packs
and massages.

6 You get lots of attention because everyone sympathizes with you.

7 You get a nice little payoff for your "pain and suffering".

The above is just as ridiculous as what you're saying about the health bill. Just as I'd rather not be in a car accident in the first place,I'd rather not accept a trivial amount of seemingly beneficial perks when I know I'm in for a real screwing in the long run.

It was nice knowing you, Cao!

PELOSI: Buy a $15,000 Policy or Go to Jail
JCT Confirms Failure to Comply with Democrats’ Mandate Can Lead to 5 Years in Jail
Friday, November 06, 2009

Today, Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee Dave Camp (R-MI) released a letter from the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) confirming that the failure to comply with the individual mandate to buy health insurance contained in the Pelosi health care bill (H.R. 3962, as amended) could land people in jail. The JCT letter makes clear that Americans who do not maintain “acceptable health insurance coverage” and who choose not to pay the bill’s new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.

In response to the JCT letter, Camp said: “This is the ultimate example of the Democrats’ command-and-control style of governing – buy what we tell you or go to jail. It is outrageous and it should be stopped immediately.”

momma cas you forgot to mention the taxes, the penalties, the time in jail someone will have to pay if they refuse to get healthcare. You can spout the things that people would like to have but you have not really told the whole story about this bill. They are going to have panels to tell Doctors the way to treat patients, not doctors on this panel it will be based on monetary. You sound like the Liberals but realize 2000 pages of a bill is not all rosey. There is more doom in there than gloom. That is not counting the unemployment rate at 10.2 and they are predicting if this passes it will increase. Do you actually believe that people or companies that make 500,000 or more will pay those taxes nooooo they will be passed on to us.

Washington, D.C.) -- Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) predicted on Thursday that there will be a constitutional challenge to the provision in the health care bill under consideration in Congress that would require all Americans to buy health insurance. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the federal government has never before mandated that Americans purchase any good or service.

When asked by CNSNews.com on Thursday where in the Constitution is Congress given the authority to mandate that people buy health insurance, McCain said, “That is an excellent question and I’m sure that if they pass health care legislation, I think there would be a challenge.”

I wonder if he though about how he's going to get a job next year after the elections, in this economy the liberals have destroyed in their pursuit of the permanent recession of socialism, motivated, no doubt, by their misplaced white guilt.

A civil war is threatening to erupt within the Democratic Party as liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org looks to punish moderate Democrats opposed to the sweeping health care overhaul proposed by party leaders.

MoveOn has reportedly raised more than $3.5 million in contributions to fund primary challenges against "any Democratic senator who blocks an up-or-down vote on health care reform with a public option," according to an e-mail sent to group members on Thursday.

The e-mail warned that any Democratic House member who joins Republicans to filibuster the health care reform measure will "face an enormous backlash from the grassroots."

The group also highlights a letter from Democracy for America, the nation's largest progressive political action founded by former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean, which urges Senate Democrats to strip committee chairmanship from "any Democrat who filibusters health care."

Federal government cutbacks and delays in health care funding have imposed tragic costs on Canadians, the Canadian Medical Association tells Ottawa. So let's review what has really happened here.

Pelosi's Playground squeeked by a 215-220 vote after giving up one of their main push points,... govt. funding for abortion. Funny,.. all along they insisted it didn't exist but they sure are pissed that Stupak's amendment made it in with a 240+ vote and made page 110 go POOF*

Price tag? What happened to the 900billion cap that Barry put on it? Guess they were lying about that one all along also. 300bil over that figure and had to use some mighty fuzzy math to cook the numbers.

Already 3 months behind the target schedule. Remember just before the August recess when they tried to cram it down our throats? The TEA Party & town halls pushed back and stuck it up their rectums.

Now it's off to the Senate to get dissected.

On Barry's desk and signed 7 weeks from now? Don't hold your breath.

Obammycare is on life support. The Senate will pull the plug and send it to the morgue.

BTW,.. it still doesn't cover ALL the supposed 46 mil,.. 40 mil,.. 30 mil,.. (depends on which side of the teleprompter Barry was talking out of that day) people that supposedly don't have ANY coverage.

Kudos to the 39 Democrats that decided they still want to be employed in 2011. We were watching. If you are truly the best candidate,.. you have our vote.

Rep. Cao knows his district. The only reason he was elected in the first place was that his Democrat predecessor was caught red handed with the bribe money in his freezer. Really embarrassing to have your duly elected Congressman representing you from a Federal penitentiary. Standing on principle has nothing to do with it. Cao wants to keep his seat.
